Should I stay or should I go
2025The painting: Should I go or should I stay, depicts a surreal beach setting in which a blue Citroën 2CV surrounded by luggage and a living room arrangement with an armchair, table and lamp stand in the middle of the sand. This alienating combination of homeliness and holiday evokes a feeling of doubt. The title reinforces the theme of inner conflict, as if the scene freezes a moment in time when the choice between staying and leaving is still open.
The Man and the Storm
2026A solitary figure stands in a vast, almost empty plain, whilst a colossal column of cloud or mist descends from the sky like a menacing waterfall. On the left stands a small, isolated house; on the right, a car with a bright yellow umbrella, the only splash of colour. The scene exudes a surreal stillness, as if the world has been frozen for a moment just before something incomprehensible happens.
At the foot of Mont Saint-Michel
2026A figure stands on a vast, wet plain, gazing at an imposing rocky island topped by a medieval structure: Mont Saint Michel. In the foreground stands a blue Citroën 2CV, the only splash of colour standing out against the grey landscape. The scene exudes tranquillity, wonder and a touch of melancholic wanderlust.

View
2022Especially for the exhibition: low countries and the sea, I made this painting in which I wanted to depict the typical Dutch landscape. Flat, empty and wide.
